FANFARONADE was a 2023 exhibition of character design shown at the Waldron Arts Center. It explores the idea of showcasing personality through design choices, as well as popular sci-fi character archetypes and military grandeur through fashion. These three characters are high-ranking officers in a fantasy world, each of them displaying various aspects of their regime.

Some questions I want to provoke in viewers are: How does this particular character present strength, and how do militaries flaunt their strength? What aspects of their character design (body shape, facial expression, and outfit) tell their story? Finally, what archetypes will our society not let go of, and what popular media tropes have been distilled into these characters?
